CITY found themselves up against Dean Windass in a blast from the past for charity.

A Bantams veterans team took on the Hull City (ex-Tigers) in a game to raise money for Valley Parade stalwart Allan Gilliver and his chosen dementia charities.

A total of £760 was raised from the match, organised by Windass at North Ferriby, where he had played at the start of his career.

James Hanson scored a hat-trick for City – as he had done in the vets' last outing against Leeds at Silsden in May.

Graeme Tomlinson was also on the scoresheet but Deano had the last laugh as Hull ran out 5-4 winners in an entertaining encounter.

Simon Ramsden, Lee Duxbury and Luke O’Brien were among the names in the side that was managed by former Bantams boss Terry Dolan.

Hull’s ranks also included 2012-2013 “history maker” Nathan Doyle.
