SO FAR this July the weather has been a big let down. But worry not, there are still two weeks left. This picture was taken in late July 2012, when sunshine brought people to Ilkley Lido, where they cooled off in the pool.
The Grade ll-listed lido was designed by Archibald Skinner and opened in May 1935 as part of the celebrations for the Silver Jubilee of George V. The lido is open from May to September and during the summer can attract up to 4,000 visitors a day.
Hopefully there will be sufficient hot days to come this summer to enjoy spots such as this.
With the school holidays almost upon us, it's well worth including Ilkley Lido in your list of 'things to do with the kids' - they will love it. Tell us your memories of visiting Ilkley Lido - email helen.mead@telegraphandargus.co.uk
