Sohail Hayat

A drug dealer from Keighley has been jailed for four-and-a-half years.

Sohail Hayat is the latest person to be locked up following a huge operation focusing on organised crime carried out by West Yorkshire Police.

Hayat (Image: West Yorkshire Police) Hayat, 29, of Spencer Street, was charged with supplying crack cocaine to an undercover police officer on four different occasions between August 17 and 30, 2023, in Keighley.

He appeared via video link from HMP Leeds for his sentencing at Bradford Crown Court.

Gavin Thorpe

A man from Bradford broke down his on-off girlfriend’s door before beating her male companion in a “brutal and persistent” attack that left him needing surgery and metal plates for multiple fractures to his face.

ThorpeThorpe (Image: West Yorkshire Police) Jailing Gavin Thorpe for two years at Bradford Crown Court, His Honour Judge Colin Burn told him: “To put it in common everyday parlance, you bashed his head in.”

Prosecutor Alisha Kaye told the court heard how Thorpe, 39, of Cross Road, off Toller Lane, went to The Drum Winder pub in Bradford city centre at around 9pm on December 21 last year in an attempt to speak to his estranged girlfriend.

Callum Warne-Cleave

A tearful burglar told a judge that he was committed to mending his ways after he was jailed for two-and-a-half years at Bradford Crown Court.

Warne-CleaveWarne-Cleave (Image: West Yorkshire Police) Callum Warne-Cleave said he was “really sorry” for entering a flat whilst a man was asleep in bed, and for later kicking a police officer after first trying to headbutt him when he was arrested.

He blamed his actions on “evil” drug use.

Armaan Khan

A newly-married Bradford man is beginning a prison sentence of more than two years after police found a stash of crack cocaine worth nearly £3,500 in his bedroom.

Solicitor advocate Andrew Walker told Bradford Crown Court that his client Armaan Khan, 21, had only been married for a month, but today he was jailed for drugs offending dating back to June 2022.

KhanKhan (Image: West Yorkshire Police) Prosecutor Rhianydd Clement told the court that police officers went to Khan’s home in Grisedale Close and found two bags of the Class A drugs in a shoe box during a search of his bedroom.

They also seized a mobile phone which later revealed messages linking Khan to low-level street dealing.

Ms Clement said the crack cocaine amounted to 48.3 grams with a street value of £3,450.

Jordan Felton

A Bradford man carrying two "deadly" combat knives said he was going to kill someone when confronted by police.

FeltonFelton (Image: British Transport Police) Jordan Felton, 25, of Wenborough Lane, in Holme Wood, has been jailed for six months after being caught by police with two combat knives and then threatening to bite off their noses.

Daniel Lakatos

A drug dealer and street robber who was part of a local gang known as the Young Farm Boys has been jailed for almost five years.

Daniel Lakatos was caught on camera selling heroin and crack cocaine to an undercover police officer whilst on bail for two earlier robberies.

LakatosLakatos (Image: West Yorkshire Police) Prosecutor Mollie Briggs told Bradford Crown Court how Lakatos, now 20, of Sand Street in Keighley, was among a group of youths who chased and robbed a 14-year-old boy near Keighley bus station on October 25, 2022, taking his iPhone, a fake Rolex watch, jewellery, a bag, and cash.

Kristian Feko

A drug dealer who led police on dangerous car chases through the Bradford district, and who escaped after driving over a police officer’s foot and dragging him alongside a car, has been locked up for two-and-a-half years.

Feko, insetFeko, inset (Image: West Yorkshire Police and Google Street View) Kristian Feko was seen driving three different cars in the space of six weeks during the summer of 2023 but managed to twice evade the police until he was finally caught in February of this year.

He has now been jailed for a total of 30 months.

Martin Gorman

A man has been jailed for more than 14 years for raping a vulnerable young girl several decades ago.

GormanGorman (Image: West Yorkshire Police) Warehouse worker Martin Gorman, 54, of Springfield Road, Elland, was handed a sentence of 14 years and three months by Mr Recorder Abdul Iqbal at Bradford Crown Court, plus an extra year on licence.

He will have to serve at least nine years and six months before he is eligible for parole.

John Gaukroger

A 91-year-old has been jailed for indecently assaulting a child more than four decades ago.

GaukrogerGaukroger (Image: West Yorkshire Police) John Gaukroger, of Halifax, was sentenced to just over two years behind bars at Bradford Crown Court today after a jury found him guilty of two counts of indecent assault against a single victim.

The victim was under the age of 10 at the time of offending.

They came forward to police in 2020 to report the offences.
