A BRADFORD school is delighted to have received a 'Good' rating by Ofsted.

Co-op Academy Princeville, on Willowfield Street off Legrams Lane, was inspected by the education watchdog on June 11 and 12.

Ofsted commended the welcoming, inclusive environment and strong moral code instilled in pupils, and called the school, which has 478 pupils on its roll, a ‘friendly place to learn’.

The report said: "The school welcomes pupils of different nationalities and backgrounds.

"Staff speak many different languages. They are very understanding of pupils’ and their families’ needs.

"Pupils know that they can speak about any concerns that they may have and that adults will help them."

The report praised staff at the academy for fostering a willingness to learn, highlighting ‘a calm hum’ in the classrooms with pupils actively participating in lessons and showing respect towards peers and staff.

Ofsted praised the ‘broad and ambitious curriculum’, starting from early years, and championed the range of initiatives to promote reading.

Although there are "inconsistencies in how effectively some curriculum policies are implemented".

The school’s behaviour policy is "clearly understood by all".

The report adds: "Pupils look forward to receiving rewards for positive behaviour. They are polite and courteous to staff and each other.

"However, some pupils say that there is occasional unkind behaviour on playground. Staff have worked with families to significantly improve pupil attendance."

Executive headteacher Rimah Aasim said: "We are immensely proud of the report which recognises and identifies the strengths of our academy.

"The inspection team recognised how we bring to life our academy mantra of- 'Learning to make a difference.'

"We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in our journey, from pupils and staff to our families, governors and the wider community. We really do succeed together."

CEO of Co-op Academies Trust, Dr Chris Tomlinson, added: "Co-op Academy Princeville's Good Ofsted rating is a testament to the hard work and dedication of its staff, students, and the broader school community.

"We are thrilled to receive this rating from Ofsted, recognising the significant strides that have been taken over recent years.

"It’s been a long time since the school has been rated ‘Good,’ so we are especially pleased to achieve this for the community the school serves.

"The school has gone through a period of positive change and Ofsted has highlighted how the strong relationships between students and staff have nurtured high motivation amongst our students.

"Congratulations to the senior leadership team, pupils, families, and staff on this well-deserved achievement."
