A BRADFORD man carrying two "deadly" combat knives said he was going to kill someone when confronted by police.

Jordan Felton, 25, of Wenborough Lane, in Holme Wood, has been jailed for six months after being caught by police with two combat knives and then threatening to bite off their noses.

He pleaded guilty to two charges of possession of a bladed article and was sentenced at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court last Wednesday.

The court heard how County Lines officers spotted Felton at Hull Railway Station on May 24 this year and approached him.

Their suspicions were raised after engaging in conversation with him and Felton was searched.

He was found to be carrying two combat knives - one in his jacket pocket and the other in his rucksack.

Felton claimed the knives were for fishing but then told the officers he was "unstable and going to kill someone" before threatening to bite of the officers' noses, according to a spokesperson for British Transport Police.

Investigating officer, DS Karen Grave, said: “Felton was arrested during a routine patrol by our county lines taskforce.

"Thanks to the expertise of our officers their suspicions were immediately alerted.

“Thankfully, due to their intervention, two deadly weapons are now off the railway network and the streets.

“Our County Lines taskforce police the railway 24/7 – criminals may not spot us – but as Felton can testify, we’ve always got our eye on them.”
