AN operation aimed at tackling traffic offences saw police officers clock one driver travelling at 47mph in a 20mph zone.
Officers from Leeds North West Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT), which covers Guiseley, Otley, Horsforth, Rawdon, Yeadon and other areas, issued 14 tickets, one court summons and seized one vehicle for a variety of traffic offences.
A spokesperson for the Leeds North West NPT said: "In the past week, NPT officers have worked alongside Roads Policing Officers to continue to enforce against the 'Fatal Five' supporting both #OpSpotlight and #OpSPARC."
Results from their patrols so far have included:
- One speeding ticket was issued on Netherfield Road, Guiseley for to a driver going at 44mph in a 30mph zone.
- One driver was issued a court summons for driving at 47mph in the 20mph zone on Broadgate Lane in Horsforth.
- One vehicle was seized for driving whilst disqualified, with no tax or MOT.
- Seven tickets were issued for driving without a seatbelt.
- Three tickets were issued for failing to maintain headlamps.
- Two tickets were issued for obstructing junctions/dropped kerbs.
- One ticket was issued for breaching anti-social vehicle use public space protection order
