STEFAN Rupp has spoken about meeting Gordon Gibb for the first time as City announced a two-year extension to their Flamingo Land partnership.

The agreement will see the North Yorkshire-based theme park, zoo and resort remain a principal partner heading into the coming campaign, before continuing to appear on the sleeves of all playing and replica shirts until at least the end of the 2026/27 season.

Joint projects and marketing initiatives will continue to present opportunities to City supporters, including a two-for-one deal on admission to the resort, if you are wearing a replica shirt which displays Flamingo Land branding.

A deal was first struck with the club 12 months ago, which saw Flamingo Land – which has been owned by former City chairman Gibb’s family since 1978 - become the club’s official shirt sleeve sponsor.

City owner Rupp said: “It is a pleasure to be furthering our partnership with Flamingo Land for another two seasons.

“Meeting Gordon Gibb for the first time was fantastic, and we shared a long and productive conversation over the future of Valley Parade, and our relationship.

“It is very important for me to have that direct line of communication with Gordon and, of course, for us as a club to have the backing of such a huge name in this country.

“Seeing Flamingo Land’s brand on our shirts over the past season has been brilliant, and hugely significant, and I am glad this will now continue.

“I am very grateful for the support of Gordon and his team and I am looking forward to seeing this partnership continue to grow.”

Gibb flew out to Germany last week with City chief executive Ryan Sparks and chief commercial officer Davide Longo to sit down for talks with Rupp.

Flamingo Land CEO Gibb said: “We have Ryan to thank for making our meeting happen in Munich, and it certainly was a pleasure to meet Stefan and hear his impressive ideas for Bradford City.

“We should have probably done this years ago, because it makes sense for the football club and landlord to have a close and strategic partnership.

“With this in mind, I feel confident that City can look forward to a successful future.”

City’s chief commercial officer, Davide Longo, added: “It is great to be extending our partnership with Flamingo Land for a further two seasons, to take effect following the conclusion of the 2024/25 campaign.

“We have struck up a really good relationship with Gordon Gibb over the past few years, and this announcement signifies his and Flamingo Land’s commitment to supporting the club wherever possible and maintaining open and consistent dialogue.

“We have thoroughly enjoyed the first year of our partnership, and to know that Flamingo Land’s logo will now be featured on our shirt sleeves for at least the next three seasons is fantastic for us as a club.

“I would like to thank Gordon and his colleagues for their ongoing support and look forward to continuing to work together.”
