A NEIGHBOURHOOD policing team issued a warning about parking near schools as part of an operation carried out to tackle road safety issues.
NPT Team 1 of Calderdale Valleys was out addressing road safety priorities across the valley yesterday (Monday) on local roads and at schools.
A number of roads and streets near schools were checked including:
- At Woodhouse Primary School, one vehicle failed to stop, caused an obstruction and the driver had no seatbelt. Another two tickets were issued for obstruction and several Words of Advice (WOA) and warning letters were issued.
- Multiple vehicles (16) were checked on Crowtrees Lane for speeds ranging from 39mph and one ticket was issued for speeding.
- Multiple vehicles were checked on Halifax Road, Brighouse, and in order.
- Approximately 30 vehicles were speed checked on Badger Lane, Blackshaw Head, and four WOAs were given for being slightly over the limit.
The NPT also issued a warning about parking near schools.
A spokesperson for Calderdale Valleys NPT said: "We would like to remind drivers to park considerately outside and near to schools.
"Children are likely to be taking less notice of what is going on around them and hitting a child because you parked lazily/inconsiderately is unforgivable.
"We will continue patrols around schools right up until the summer break.
"Please park with consideration."
