WEST Yorkshire's Mayor Tracy Brabin will meet with the Prime Minister at Downing Street on Tuesday.

Yesterday, Sir Keir Starmer announced during a press conference that he would squeeze in a meeting with metro mayors on Tuesday before heading to the US.

He said his "door is open" to regional leaders of all political stripes as he outlined plans to "discuss with them their part in delivering the growth that we need across the United Kingdom".

Ms Brabin said: "I'm looking forward to meeting the Prime Minister at Downing Street on Tuesday.

"Mayors are already growing their economies but in partnership with a new Labour Government I know we can deliver even more.

"Exciting times ahead."

The visit comes as Ms Brabin and West Yorkshire Combined Authority continue to face pressure over Bradford Interchange bus station, which has been shut since January.

A number of readers have contacted the Telegraph & Argus urging Ms Brabin to "sort out" the situation "as a priority for Bradford".

Ms Brabin previously said: "We want to reassure the public we are working flat out with partners to come to the right decision about the future of the Interchange, bearing in mind the critical importance of public safety.

"I know people are very frustrated."
