A TOURIST attraction has praised the "staggering" dedication of volunteers who helped to put on a successful four-day event.

The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway staged its annual Diesel Gala last weekend - and has now announced a date for next year's event.

The heritage railway, which includes stations in Haworth and Oxenhope, has revealed that more than 2,600 volunteer hours were recorded across the four days of the Diesel Gala.

A spokesperson said it was "a staggering number to keep the wheels turning over the fantastic event.

"This doesn't include all the preparation before the event and putting the railway back together afterwards."

Speaking at the conclusion of the event, the spokesperson added: "As the last diesel is parked in the yard this evening after a fantastic weekend, the countdown has started 2025's Diesel Gala with a date to save! Who knows what will visit in just under a year."

Next year will see another four-day extravaganza, with June 19 to 22 pencilled in as the dates.

The railway spokesperson said: "A huge applause goes to Gala Organiser Kieran and his team, who delivered another great weekend in the Worth Valley!"

In total, 10 different locomotives operated across the weekend,
