THERE was chaos on a Bradford street as a car was driven into a house, an individual was attacked, and then a fire was started.

West Yorkshire Police has launched an investigation after reports of a disturbance at an address on Chellow Dene View, in the Daisy Hill area in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A spokesperson for police said a vehicle was "deliberately driven into a property" before two suspects then tried to attack the victim.

They added: "Significant damage was caused to the building, but there were no reported injuries.

"The occupants of the address are being safeguarded."

The suspects ran off from the scene and set fire to a vehicle nearby.

A witness to the fire, who wished to remain anonymous, claims he saw two men leaving a car, which subsequently ended up alight, and then making off in another vehicle at around 12.30am.

He said it was unclear from his view whether the car they left, which was on Hathaway Avenue, was set alight or burst into flames.

The car then rolls down the hill and hits another vehicle that catches fire, engulfing them both in ferocious flames, according to the witness.

The witness sent the Telegraph & Argus a startling video of a firefighter tackling the blaze, with thick plumes of smoke rising into the air.

He said: "It was dramatic and the car had a few blasts, many neighbours came out of their houses.

"Firefighters reached on time, otherwise the fire could have caught house fences."

West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (WYFRS) was called at 12.40am on Sunday to reports of a vehicle fire and sent one crew from Fairweather Green.

A spokesperson said: "We extinguished two cars which were on fire using breathing apparatus and hose reels to tackle the flames.

"West Yorkshire Police were also in attendance at this incident."
