HOLIDAY goers are being urged not to go to an airport after a "major power cut" this morning has caused chaos.
Manchester Airport said on X at 6.30am today that the airport was hit by a "major power cut" earlier this morning and that this had caused "widespread disruption".
The post added that "a significant number of flights, particularly from Terminals 1 and 2, are expected to be delayed or cancelled".
Just under two hours later, at 7.45am, a spokesperson for the airport said power had been restored.
They added: "We are working to get those passengers already at the airport onto flights as soon as possible."

The latest post, at 8.45am, has now advised those flying from Terminals 1 and 2 not to come to the airport "until further notice and to contact their airlines".
Those due to fly from Terminal 3 are told to go to the airport as normal, unless advised otherwise by their airline, but could be affected by delays.
The power outage means there may be instances where some people’s baggage will not be on flights.

A spokesperson for Manchester Airport said: "We will work with airlines to make sure passengers are reunited with any baggage that is not on their flight as soon as possible."
A number of arriving flights are being diverted to other airports, so those due to pick passengers up from Manchester have been advised to check before they travel.
The airport said: “We apologise for any inconvenience and aim to restore normal service as soon as possible.”
