A CLECKHEATON dance school is celebrating success in a national competition.

Says Amanda Hulley: “Our dance school, Elaine Howarth’s Centre Stage, had three students qualify for the final of Miss Dance of GB 2024 - and one student went on to win it!

“Our students, Alexie Hulley, Ruby Hughes and Olivia Baker, qualified for the final in their heats of up to 40 competitors.

"There were 55 finalists at Winter Gardens, Blackpool. Alexie went on to win both the Ross Wicks vocal award and the whole competition, along with the Judith Sylvester award.

“It’s a pretty special achievement for a small dance school in Cleckheaton. We’re all on cloud nine. We can’t actually believe that, at her first ever final at 16-years-old, Alexie went on to win!”
