STICK a pony in me pocket, I’ll fetch the suitcase from the van...
Hit show Only Fools and Horses the Musical is heading for the Alhambra stage, featuring cherished material from the much-loved TV sitcom.
Casting has been announced for the tour; Sam Lupton will play Del Boy, alongside Tom Major as Rodney and Philip Childs as Grandad.
Directed by Caroline Jay Ranger, who directed the triumphant West End production, the critically acclaimed musical is based on John Sullivan’s legendary TV show. With a script and original score written by John’s son, Jim Sullivan, and Paul Whitehouse, who played Grandad in the West End show, prepare to get reacquainted with Britain’s most lovable rogues and experience the classic comedy on stage.
The feelgood family show heads back to Peckham in 1989, where it’s all kicking off. While London’s Yuppie invasion is in full swing, love is in the air as Del Boy sets out to find his soulmate, Rodney and Cassandra prepare to say ‘I do’ and even Trigger is gearing up for a date...
Meanwhile, Boycie and Marlene give parenthood one final shot and Grandad takes stock of his life and decides the time has finally arrived to get his piles sorted.
With musical contributions from Chas & Dave, the beloved theme tune as you’ve never heard it before, and 20 new songs full of cockney charm, audiences are in for a right ol’ knees-up. As Del Boy himself would say: “Get on the blower for a ticket for a cushty night out - only a 4 carat plonker would miss it.”
