THE landlord of a building hit by a car in the early hours of the morning has spoken of his shock. 

Emergency services were called to the scene on Listerhills Road at 12.10am, to reports of a one-vehicle crash.

The car had gone into the front of the Lahore Butt Karahi restaurant.

This shocking photograph shows the damage caused by the crash. 

Landlord Parvez Khan said he got a call shortly after midnight and came to the scene. He said there was extensive damage.

Mr Khan said the scene was full of police cars, firefighters, and paramedics.

He said: "I just can't believe it. I've never seen anything like this. I've been up all night - my head is spinning."

Gas systems were being disconnected and scaffolding crews were at the scene amid concerns the building was structurally unsafe, said Mr Khan.

West Yorkshire Police statement 

A spokesperson for the force said: "We were called at 12.08am to reports of a one-vehicle road traffic collision into a building on Listerhills Road.

"The driver, a woman aged 26 years old, has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

"Enquiries are ongoing."

Fire service statement 

A spokesperson for the service said: "We were called at 12.22am this morning to reports of a dangerous structure on Listerhills Road.

"This was found to be a car that had crashed into a building.

"One crew from Bradford attended and evacuated people from the surrounding building.

"We left the scene at 2.11am."
