KEIGHLEY Cougars Women have reformed this year, and they played their first game on Sunday afternoon.

They visited Batley ARLFC for a development friendly, and if all of their games are like this one was, it will certainly a memorable comeback into the ladies fold for Cougars.

With ex-Bradford Dudley Hill coach Darren Collins in charge, and club stalwart Saima Hussain playing for them in the centres once again, Keighley squeezed into a 14-12 half-time lead at the weekend over at Staincliffe Fields.

But the home side hit back in the second half, and a late penalty was enough to separate the sides, Batley claiming a thrilling 26-24 win.

It was a wonderful effort from Keighley, given the team were only formed just seven weeks ago.
