FIREFIGHTERS were called to the M62 motorway this morning following reports of a HGV fire.
Crews from Rastrick Fire Station were called just before 9am today to the westbound carriageway between junction 25 (Brighouse) and junction 24 (Ainley Top).
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service told the Telegraph & Argus: “Fire crews from Rastrick responded to reports of a HGV fire on M62 this morning just before 9am.
“Upon arrival, they discovered that there was no fire; instead, the brake discs on the vehicle were smoking."
The spokesperson added: “Crews remained on the scene to assist Highways with safety on the carriageway and left the scene around 10am.”
According to traffic alerts, one lane was closed due to the incident
