A WOMAN was rushed to hospital after being trapped in a car that flipped over.
West Yorkshire Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) were called to a crash involving one vehicle on Halifax Road, in Hipperholme at 9.56am this morning.
It happened between the road's junctions with Thompson Close and the crossroads traffic lights, where Halifax Road, Leeds Road, Denholme Gate Road and Brighouse Road meet.
West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service were called to the scene three minutes later and sent two crews, one from Odsal and another from Huddersfield.
A spokesperson for the service said an individual was trapped in an overturned car and the crews cut them free.
Footage taken at the scene by Adz Darcy showed a rear part of the car had come away from the vehicle and he also captured the moment it was flipped back over.
It also had a large dint at the rear and the wing mirror was hanging off, on the side the car had flipped onto.
YAS sent an ambulance, rapid response vehicle, and team leader to the scene.
A woman was rushed to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said the woman was taken to hospital "as a precaution" and it appears her injuries are not serious.
Police shut the road and this caused congestion to build in the area but it was reopened just before midday.
