A FUNDRAISING run has brought in nearly £50,000 for a hospice which helps families across the Bradford district.
More than 1,000 participants took part in the Forget Me Not Children's Hospice Colour Run at Greenhead Park in Huddersfield last Saturday.
Together they raised a remarkable £48,000 - a record amount for the Colour Run.
The participants - who were showered in clouds of coloured powder, making it look like they have gone through a rainbow - included actor Rhys Connah, who played Ryan in the hit BBC drama Happy Valley.
Rhys is an ambassador for the hospice, which supports babies and children with life-shortening conditions and their families.
He said: "I think it went quite well considering I was carrying my one-year old brother with me!
"Events like this, for the charity and the community in general, are unbelievably important.
"Ten per cent of Forget Me Not's funding comes from the Government - that means that 90 per cent comes from events like this, by people being willing to give things up to support a local charity."
Vicky Lough, event manager at Forget Me Not, said: "A huge well done and thank you to everyone who got colourful with us."
