ENTRIES are now open for the Cricket Yorkshire Tea of the Year competition, which is sponsored, quite appropriately, by Yorkshire Tea.

John Fuller, of Cricket Yorkshire, who organises the event, says: “A cricket tea is one of the highlights of our great game and there are lots of cricket clubs across Yorkshire who put on a fine spread between innings.

“Last year, Stainland won the Cricket Yorkshire Tea of the Year with an incredible feast, although it was so tough even to shortlist because of the standard.

“The competition is back for 2024, sponsored again generously by Yorkshire Tea, with new categories and more chances to win!”

Deadline for entries to the popular website is Sunday, June 30 as clubs try to unseat Stainland, and their team of tea ladies headed up by Trish Wood.
