A RESIDENT was treated for smoke inhalation following a kitchen fire.
The incident happened at a property on Scotty Croft Lane in Brighouse just after midnight on Thursday.
Firefighters were called to the high-rise flat at 12.04am, where there had been a kitchen fire.
It was out by the time crews had arrived.
Firefighters used a high-powered fan to clear the remainder of the smoke in the flat.
Rastrick, Cleckheaton, and Huddersfield fire stations were in attendance, along with an aerial appliance.
A spokesperson for WYFRS said: "Call to a flat within a high-rise block containing smoke.
"Proved to be a kitchen fire, out upon our crew arrival.
"Crews used a high-powered fan to clear the remainder of the smoke in the flat.
"An occupier was treated by ambulance paramedics for smoke inhalation."
