REPAIRS to a Bradford road following a storm will get underway next week, Bradford Council has said.
Damage was caused to the highway surfacing on Vicar Lane, in the city centre, during torrential downpours on May 6.
In an update, the council said Balfour Beatty will be undertaking remedial works, starting on Monday, June 17.
Before these works start, the damaged sections of the highway will be excavated and the area beneath will be checked for any additional damage to the base layers of the road.
It's estimated that the work will take 10 working days to complete, depending on what is found when the surface is removed.
Bus services will continue on their current routes during the works, however, there may be some slight delays through the work site to ensure public safety.
A Bradford Council spokesperson said: “These remedial works follow on from the recent Yorkshire Water repairs to the combined sewer overflow on Vicar Lane and, once completed the damaged section of Vicar Lane will be reopened to bus services in both directions.”
