A RELATIVE of Zayn Malik has created a unique oil painting of the King and Queen.

Local artist Simone Malik has drawn the fun imagery of the monarch and his wife Camilla.

Simone is a huge Royal Family fan, having produced work depicting King Charles and also the late Queen Elizabeth II in the past.

She hopes the piece of art will fetch a decent sum for charity Cancer Research UK when it eventually goes to auction.

"As an artist, we always like exploring other avenues. I sat down doodling on a piece of paper and I just thought let's push the boundaries and see what I can get.

"Usually you are inclined to do something very accurate. But I thought this won't be, let me change the dimensions of the face and ears.

"Let's see if I can still create a likeliness of the person when I do that. I enjoy that something that is not an accurate portrait can still look like that person. It is just a trick of the mind.

"I want to do more and more of these of more royal family members and eventually hold an exhibition. I would love to sell the work and give the proceeds to Cancer Research UK.

"Lots of people around the world are affected by this horrible disease. It takes a great strength of character to overcome it as well as medical science.

"Two key members of the Royal Family are affected by the disease so why not use my creativity to try get something positive from it."

"People have been very engaged in it. It is very different from my usual style.

"It looks amateurish in certain areas but it is a certain style of art. Art is very subjective so different people have different tastes."

Simone said: "Zayn has not had a look. We have been busy with family weddings. Zayn's cousin recently got married.

"We have not seen much of him at all in the last few years, I think he has just been very busy but we do see his sisters.

"He has made the Malik family really proud. He has put Bradford on the map."
