A RECORD-BREAKING summer of music at a unique West Yorkshire venue burst into life on opening night.

New York rock trailblazers Blondie got Live at The Piece Hall 2024 underway on the first of their two-nights in Halifax.

Iconic frontwoman Debbie Harry belted out hits, including One Way, Call Me, Atomic and Heart Of Glass, as the 34-night concert series launched.

Live at The Piece Hall has already broken records for ticket sales with more than 170,000 tickets sold across the series.

This is then followed on Thursday by Sheryl Crow, then Annie Mac and Nile Rodgers & Chic next weekend.
