FINAL preparations are being made for a special event at one of the district's top tourist attractions.
The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, which runs through Haworth, will host its Diesel Gala from Thursday, June 20 to Sunday, June 23.
A spokesperson for the railway said: "Many visitors won’t remember steam traction, so the Diesel Gala brings back memories of these heritage machines that worked right from the end of steam up until recent memory – and in some cases, continue to do so."
A number of guest locomotives have been booked for the event, including English Electric built 50008 Thunderer and its classmate 50021 Rodney.
Class 52 'Western' number D1015 is also set to appear, along with Class 37 number 37250.
Another highlight will be the appearance of a Class 69 locomotive, which was converted by Progress Rail from Class 56 locomotives at their workshop in Longport.
