A BRADFORD job centre - which has been closed for just over a month after flash flooding struck the city - is planned to reopen in early-July, the Telegraph & Argus understands.

Eastbrook Court Jobcentre on Vicar Lane was shut to jobseekers after heavy rain hit the city centre and other parts of the Bradford district on the early-May Bank Holiday Monday.

Images emerged of flooded roads, with the worst-hit streets including Vicar Lane.

A source has told the T&A the job centre will reopen early next month "if all goes to plan".

Members of staff are still working in the building.

This week, one worker contacted the T&A to raise concerns about a fault with the staff entrance door which had led to "huge safety concerns".

It is understood the DWP is aware of the incident and security staff have taken measures in response to the concerns.

The job centre also has two guards on site.

A note on the job centre currently states: "Please note this job centre is closed due to unforeseen circumstances.

"Please attend Aldermanbury House for all appointments.

"Please contact us via your online account if you need to contact us or call us."
