POLICE are appealing for information about a masked man who was scared off by a barking dog while trying to break into a van.
The vehicle interference took place on Valley Road, Ilkley, at 7.40pm on Thursday.
A police spokesperson said: "A suspect was disturbed trying to break into a Peugeot Extra van on Valley Road, Ilkley.
"The suspect managed to gain entry to the van by unknown means but was scared off when the victim was alerted by his dog.
"Nothing has been reported missing from the van.
"The suspect has been described as a black male, approximately 20 to 25 years old, who was wearing a balaclava.
"He made off in a light blue vehicle."
