BANTAMS fans are waiting with bated breath for the release of the club’s kits for the 2024/25 campaign, but we already know one feature that will be on them.

Every season, City commemorate the tragic loss of life in the 1985 Valley Parade Fire Disaster with a little black ribbon on their playing jersey, to pay tribute to the 56 fans who died on that awful day.

The Bantams were playing Lincoln on that fateful afternoon, and two Imps supporters were among those who perished in the fire.

It was a tragic incident that has bonded both clubs ever since, and with the 40th anniversary of the disaster coming up next season, Lincoln have paid their own tribute on their home kit for the 2024/25 campaign.

The back of the jersey sports the number 56 at the top of it, encircled by the words ‘always remembered’ to commemorate those who lost their lives in the Valley Parade fire in 1985.

Lincoln’s kit reveal came on Thursday, with many Bantams fans commenting to show their appreciation of the gesture.

On the field, Lincoln will be looking to reach the Championship next season, and play second tier football for the first time since the 1960/61 campaign.

They came agonisingly close to making the League One play-offs last term, missing out on those to sixth-placed Barnsley by a mere two points.
