POLICE have issued an update after two people were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage after a Bradford city centre bank was daubed in red paint earlier this week.

The incident, which saw red paint splashed on the side of the building, main doors and cash machine at Barclays on Market Street, happened in the early hours of Monday morning.

West Yorkshire Police subsequently confirmed that two people were arrested in connection with the incident.

A 46-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman were both arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said today: "The two people arrested have been interviewed and released on conditional bail."

The Barclays branch was closed when the Telegraph & Argus visited earlier.

On Tuesday, a spokesperson for Barclays said: "We are still assessing the damage and the Bradford branch will remain closed today and for the next few days to allow remediation works to be completed.

"We apologise for any inconvenience to customers."
