OWNERS of three holiday lets are celebrating recognition in a national awards scheme.
The properties – Over The Arch, in Haworth; The Snug, at Cononley, and Beckside Cottage, Cowling – have been rated amongst the best holiday homes in the country.
All feature in a Sykes Holiday Cottages initiative saluting owners who've achieved consistently perfect feedback scores from guests during the past year.
The properties are amongst just 32 nationally to be included in the Sykes Stars programme.
James Shaw, managing director of Sykes Holiday Cottages, says: "We love to showcase the incredible mix of holiday lets available in the UK, and those that feature in our Sykes Stars are some of the very best.
"We know just how committed these owners are to providing fantastic breaks for their guests and it’s great to be able to recognise this.
"Our winners make an invaluable contribution to the UK holiday let market and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for them in the future, especially as Yorkshire continues to be a thriving staycation hotspot."
Deborah Furness bought Over The Arch, a one-bedroom apartment, in 2021 with the intention of transforming it into a holiday let. She began welcoming guests in December that year.
She says: "I’m extremely proud to be named a Sykes Star – it’s a pat on the back to say that what I’m doing is working!
"It's so touching when guests tell me how much they’ve enjoyed exploring Haworth, as well as staying in Over The Arch. It’s a fabulous location and getting to introduce holidaymakers to the area is really fulfilling."
The Snug, a semi-detached cottage, was bought by husband and wife Richard and Andrea Boon in 2017.
Richard said it was acquired as a tribute to his late mother, who loved the area.
He adds: "Andrea and I take great pride in overseeing the cottage and maintaining it from day to day. Whilst we know how high our standards are, it’s rewarding to see our guests appreciate this too."
Beckside Cottage has been owned by husband and wife Ian and Joanne Taylor for three years.
Joanne says: "People are at the heart of what we do. We love meeting everyone who comes to stay, sharing stories and creating meaningful connections. After all, reviews from these people have made us a Sykes Star!"
