DRIVERS faced long delays on the M62 during this evening's rush-hour after a crash involving a car and a lorry. 

Shortly before 5.30pm, National Highways said two lanes had been closed westbound from junction 25, for Brighouse, to junction 24, for Huddersfield, as a result of the collision. 

Drivers were warned of 30-minute delays and six miles of "heavy congestion" following the crash.

Shortly before 6.30pm, National Highways confirmed all lanes had been reopened.

A spokesperson for National Highways said: "The vehicles from the earlier collision have been recovered and delays are easing."

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said it was a "damage-only collision".
