THERE are four miles of queues on a motorway after a crash involving two vehicles.

The collision happened on the eastbound carriageway of the M62, between junction 22 (Rishworth Moor) and junction 23 (Huddersfield).

It was first reported at 2.06pm, according to the AA.

National Highways: Yorkshire said at 3.11pm that all traffic was stopped, with emergency services on the scene.

Vehicles were released shortly after but one lane (of three) has remained closed while the two vehicles are recovered.

A spokesperson for National Highways: Yorkshire said: "There's still a 45-minute delay on approach with four miles of congestion."

There was also a crash on the westbound carriageway in the same area but that has been cleared and all lanes have reopened, with traffic easing.
