A BRADFORD team with diverse players from different backgrounds is celebrating winning a league title.

Bradford Central FC, based on Legrams Lane, has teams across many age groups.

One of their teams, which includes three girls, defied the odds by bringing home the Craven, Aire & Wharfe Junior League U13 F (2nd Set) - winning all their seven games.

"Starting from the bottom, with players who couldn't even dribble a ball to now being champions and winning the league title without losing a game.

"It's a remarkable achievement for myself and those that have helped.

"A special thank you to chairman Abid Zaman, and my assistants Imran Mussa and Ehsaan Shazad."

He added: "This has always been the ambition. To win a trophy with these group of players that no other club would take.

"To elevate our community and to be recognised as a football club.

"This is just the beginning and I'm looking forward to be starting big projects that I have planned."

"As we have a diverse group of players, including three girls that have broken barriers with the league mostly made up of boys.

"Hamza has done a brilliant job to get the players to where they are right now, giving up his weekends to spend time with the children.

"My son Adam Mussa is a player for the under-13s team.

"He’s one of the smallest players on the team but with the help of Hamza he has been given the confidence to play and not be scared  -becoming one of the top goal scorers in the league."
