A NEW food festival designed for children is bringing cooking classes and events to Bradford.
There will be a series of activities across the half term as well as the summer, Christmas, and Easter holidays.
The celebrations will then culminate in a day-long food festival in the summer holidays next year.
Young people can learn how to cook healthy, nutritious, and affordable meals alongside their families and explore cuisines from around the world.
The festival will also celebrate the culinary heritage of many immigrant and diaspora communities that live across the district.
To kick off the festival, a series of young people's cookery classes and healthy eating-based events are taking place.
Focusing on heritage food and recipes, Little Foodies cookery sessions are run by an experienced chef and teacher; and supervised by qualified professionals.
The events have brought to the city by Bradford South Asian Festival, which is returning this August, and funded by The Leap.
Little Foodies will be overseen by a former winner of ITV’s Food Glorious Food and Queensbury teacher, Rahila Hussain.
A spokesperson for the event said: “We hope this festival could have a real transformative impact in Bradford's communities.
"It will take much of the 'ordinary' and every day in people's lives and elevate it as a cultural and learning experience for the wider community."
