BRADFORD-based Morrisons is introducing a new flavour of doughnut to its bakery section.
Caramel doughnuts will become a permanent fixture at Morrisons' Market Street counters from this week.
The sweet treat will join the strawberry, raspberry, and custard varieties which are 90p for a pack of five.
Last year, shoppers consumed more than 69 million doughnuts from Morrisons' bakeries, amounting to over four million kilograms of doughnuts, the same weight as 250 cars.
Sarah Mozley, senior bakery and cakes buying manager at Morrisons, said: “Doughnuts are a firm favourite with our customers, with our current cult classic, the jam doughnut, freshly baked every day by our trained bakers on Market Street.
"Customers have told us how much they enjoy caramel-flavoured sweet treats so we have listened to them and launched our new caramel doughnut.
"They’re so delicious, we doubt these will even make it out of the car park!”
