A CLECKHEATON man has been arrested on suspicion of robbing a taxi driver near a fish and chip shop.
West Yorkshire Police said a taxi driver was allegedly robbed close to Fry Dayz Fisheries on the Parade in Batley at around 3.25am on April 25.
Today, the force said a man from Cleckheaton was arrested on suspicion of robbery in connection with the matter and subsequently released on police bail.
Officers also said they are continuing to appeal for "any footage of a suspect near the scene".
A male suspect - described as white, in his 20s, of medium build, and wearing all black with scars on his face - could have been on Manor Way, the Parade or Maythorne Avenue just before the incident, the force said.
Officers would also like residents on Hazel Grove, Lime Tree Avenue, Hawthorne Avenue, Ashmead, Pine Grove, and Chestnut Avenue to see if they have footage of the man.
Anyone who can help police with their enquiries should call the Kirklees District Crime Team on 101, quoting crime number 13240219932.
