A BRADFORD school has opened a brand new facility and named it after a teacher who worked at the school for 40 years.
Ronald Bolt worked at Woodhouse Grove School in Apperley Bridge from 1941 until 1981.
The physics teacher had a passion for tennis.
It has led the school to call the new covered outdoor sports facility in the grounds, The Bolt Courts.
Pictures show students at the school, which is an independent co-educational day and boarding for ages two-18, already enjoying the courts.
A post on the school's Facebook page said: "We are delighted that our new covered outdoor courts are OPEN!
"We know there has been much speculation over their name, but they are not in a barn or under a dome - so they take the name of THE BOLT COURTS.
"Named after a teacher, Ronald Bolt who worked at the school from 1941-1981. Yes, 40 years!
"He was a physics teacher but his passion was ball sport, particularly tennis – but we reckon he would have liked Netball too!
"The ‘official’ opening is being planned but our students are already enjoying using them and they are available to hire now."
It comes after the school opened a new sixth-form building earlier this year.
