A MAN has been jailed for six months after being caught carrying a knife in North Parade.
David Carroll, 37, of no fixed abode but with links to the Bradford area, was found guilty of possessing a knife blade or sharp-pointed article in a public place at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
He pleaded not guilty to the offence at an earlier hearing.
The 37-year-old had a craft knife on him in North Parade - the popular top-of-town street that houses a number of bars and eateries - on March 26 this year, without good reason or lawful authority, according to court records.
The magistrates sentenced Carroll to half a year behind bars.
He was also ordered to be deprived of the craft knife.
