EMERGENCY services rescued two workers who were trapped underground on a residential street.
Crews were called to the incident on Paddock Lane, Halifax, shortly after 7pm yesterday.
Both people were successfully rescued and passed into the care of the ambulance service.
The individuals were surveyors working underground at the time, according to West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "We were called at 7.05pm to Paddock Lane in Halifax to reports of two people trapped underground.
"We had four crews in attendance, plus the technical rescue unit and an aerial appliance.
"We also worked with our partners in West Yorkshire Police, Yorkshire Ambulance Service, Yorkshire Water and the Environment Agency.
"Both casualties were rescued using line rescue gear and passed to the care of our colleagues in Yorkshire Ambulance Service."
