ONE of the historic streets in Saltaire is to be closed while rail works are carried out nearby.

Bradford Council has announced the temporary closure of Albert Terrace from its junction with Fanny Street to its junction with George Street.

Pedestrian access will be maintained. Alternative routes for traffic are available via Albert Terrace (unaffected section), Fanny Street, Caroline Street, George Street and vice versa.

The order will remain in force until 7am on October 7.

Other announcements by Bradford Council are:

* Temporary closure of Fencote Crescent, Fagley, for telecommunication works to be carried out.

The order affects the length of Fencote Crescent from its junction with Flawith Drive to a point outside No.6 Fencote Crescent. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Alternative routes for traffic will be available via Fencote Crescent (unaffected section), Flinton Grove, Flawith ?rive and vice versa. The order ends at 6pm today.

* Footpath closure at Bradford West because of the risk of danger to the public while works are carried out. The order affects the length of Footpath No.475 from its junction with Footpath No.411 to opposite 14 Bull Royd Crescent.

Alternative routes for pedestrians are available via Footpath No.475 (unaffected section), Footpath No.411, Templars Way, Footpath No.235 and vice versa. The order will remain in force until 6pm on May 31.

* Goods Vehicle Operator’s Licence: Red Group Scaffolding Ltd is applying to change an existing licence to keep an extra two goods vehicles at the operating centre at Unit 5, Hammerton Street, Bradford.

Owners or occupiers of land (including buildings) near the operating centre who believe that their use or enjoyment of that land would be affected, should make written representations to the Traffic Commissioner at Hillcrest House, 386 Harehills Lane, Leeds, LS9 6NF stating their reasons. A Guide to making representations is available from the Traffic Commissioner’s office.

* Goods Vehicle Operator’s Licence: Suttons Tankers Limited of Gorsey Lane, Widnes, is applying to change an existing license as an operating centre for three goods vehicles and three trailers at Yorkshire Water Services, Esholt Wastewater Treatment Works, Ainsbury House, Bradford.

Owners or occupiers of land (including buildings) near the operating centre wanting to make written representations should send them to the Traffic Commissioner, Hillcrest House, 386 Harehills Lane, Leeds, LS9 6NF stating their reasons.
