POLICE have issued a statement after a video emerged on social media of a woman seemingly throwing stones at a statue of Mary outside a church in Bradford.
The footage was posted on Facebook late on April 30.
It was captured at 4.10pm on April 25 on Westgate and shows a woman standing on the pathway outside the building’s grounds.
She wanders along the path and then appears to throw stones at the statue.
The statue is on the exterior of the church and is behind a transparent panel, perched beneath an archway, with a black plaque to the left of it.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “A woman has been identified and referrals are being made to the appropriate support services.”
