A MAN wanted abroad for assaulting a police officer could be in West Yorkshire, the National Crime Agency (NCA) says.
The government agency is on the hunt for Horvath Istvan, 56, who is wanted in Hungary.
Istvan was convicted of both the offence and failing to appear in court for sentencing in 2013.
He was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment in his absence, the NCA said.
Istvan has links to Dewsbury in West Yorkshire but could be anywhere in the county and surrounding areas.
He is of slim build, around 5ft 5” in height, and has short brown hair.
Rickie Taylor of the NCA’s Joint International Crime Centre (JICC) said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who has information that may assist us in our search for Horvath Istvan, who we believe is in the Dewsbury area.
“If you see him or have any information pertaining to his whereabouts, I urge you to contact us as soon as possible.
“You can do this by calling us on 0370 496 7622, or you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and provide information anonymously.”
