A NEW initiative to support people in Bradford's night-time economy is launching tonight (Saturday).
Safe Space is a partnership initiative with Bradford at Night, New Vision Bradford, West Yorkshire Combined Authority and West Yorkshire Police.
The purpose of the Safe Space Initiative is to support the Bradford night-time economy by offering people a safe space to go if they need help.
It is available on various dates throughout the year and the first date is today (April 27).
The van will be parked on Kirkgate, near to McDonalds, from 9pm to 3am and offers confidential clinical space, first aid, phone charging, hot drinks and water, naloxone, safe place to wait for friends or a taxi home and support and guidance around alcohol and drug use.
Safe Space is free to access and if anyone needs support they can go along to the van.
Local pubs, including The Brass Owl and The Bradford Underground, are aware of Safe Space and can point people in the direction of the van.
