A BRADFORD salon owner has spoken about the importance of her customers as she celebrates 20 years in the industry.
Kirsty Murch, of Seymours Cutting Room in Low Moor, has been a hairdresser in the city for two decades since the age of 18.
To celebrate, the business is hosting a party with a rock n roll band and burger van later today.
She credits a loyal clientele for much of her longevity and feels the business is still growing from strength to strength.
"It is maintaining high standards and being there for your clients. Your clients become your friends," Kirsty told the Telegraph & Argus.
"You are there throughout their lives. You end up being that counsellor and advisor.
"Some people just come into the salon because they need that friend and company.
"I have clients who just call in, don't have their hair done, and just come in for a cup of tea and chat on the sofa."
When asked if the industry had changed over the years, Kirsty pointed out a certain period that was difficult.
"Covid ruined it a little bit," she said.
"It is only now that we are seeing it come back to normality.
"You had people's struggles mentally and with money. That was the hardest time in the last 20 years."
