"Enquiries have been made and the driver has been identified."
A member of the public passed the crash just after 8pm last night and said there were four police cars, as well as a fire engine, but no ambulance at the time.
They added that it was a "big crash" and "looked bad".
Another person said fire crews had to rescue someone from one of the vehicles.
One passer-by said: "When I drove past, I could see a car which looked like it's door had been cut off.
"One of the cars was being loaded onto a recovery truck."

Two police cars were guarding each side of the cordon, with a police officer chaperoning cars away from the Idlecroft Road end.
There was also an ambulance within the cordon.
Two officers were spotted spreading a material across the road.
Police have launched an appeal for information following the crash.
Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has information that can help police, should contact the force on 101, or using the contact options on the West Yorkshire Police website.
