LATEST NEWS: Police statement after huge emergency response to crash
POLICE have closed a main road in Bradford this evening after a "bad" crash.
The collision has happened on Bradford Road, in Idle, just beyond its junction with Idlecroft Road heading away from Bradford.
A member of the public passed the crash just after 8pm and said two cars were involved.
There were four police cars, as well as a fire engine, but no ambulance at the time, when they passed.
They added that it was a "big crash" and "looked bad".
Another person said fire crews had to rescue someone from one of the vehicles.
One passerby said: "When I drove past, I could see a car which looked like it's door had been cut off.
"One of the cars was being loaded onto a recovery truck."
The Telegraph & Argus visited the scene at around 9pm and saw a police cordon in place, between the road's junctions with Idlecroft Road and The Grove.
Two police cars were guarding each side of the cordon, with a police officer chaperoning cars away from the Idlecroft Road end.
There was also an ambulance within the cordon.
Two officers were spotted spreading a material across the road.
