TWO people were taken to hospital after a car crashed into a traffic sign.
The collision occurred on Gelderd Road, in Birstall, just after 6pm yesterday evening.
Emergency services scrambled to the scene and traffic was brought to a standstill in the area.

A spokesperson for the force said: "At 6.16pm yesterday (Wednesday, April 3), police were called to a report of a car colliding with a traffic sign in Gelderd Road, Birstall.
"Two people from the vehicle were taken to hospital for further treatment.
"Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening."
