A DISPERSAL order has been introduced in Bradford city centre to tackle anti-social behaviour.
The order, which covers the highlighted area on the below map, was authorised at 9.57am on Saturday for a period of 24 hours.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said it had been brought in following reports of anti-social behaviour and officers witnessing it.
The spokesperson added: "Under this power, which falls under Section 34 of the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act, officers have the right to disperse and remove any person suspected of contributing or likely to contribute to anti-social behaviour, and instruct the surrender of any relevant property.
"Anyone under the age of 16 can be removed to their place of residence or place of safety.
"This power will be used to reduce the likelihood of the public in the locality being harassed, alarmed or distressed, and to prevent further crime and disorder."
Anyone with information about those involved in anti-social behaviour in the city centre is urged to contact the Bradford City Neighbourhood Policing Team by calling 101 or visiting www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101livechat
