A BRADFORD man has hit out over "appalling" fly-tipping near his house and claims it is "infested with rats".
The man, who is a resident at Bow Court, on Priestman Close, Manningham, spoke to the T&A to raise concerns about fly-tipping and litter outside his Accent Housing home.
The social housing provider said it will “clear the site as soon as possible” and it is being acted upon as a "priority".
The man, who wanted to remain anonymous, said: “I’ve phoned Accent so many times about the appalling conditions outside the front of my house.
“There’s rubbish everywhere. People just dump stuff on our street.
“There’s are a lot of takeaways on the main road and people will go to them and then just park up on our street, eat their food, and then throw it out of the window.
“Then the wind picks and blows all of that rubbish into our parking bays.
“This has been happening for the last six months and nothing is getting done about it.
“It’s a health hazard and it’s not getting cleared away. It’s getting worse and it’s infested with rats now.
“I’ve been ringing Accent Housing and there hasn’t been any reply.
“We pay £12 a week for communal service for 12 maisonette flats, and that includes things like cutting hedges and picking up litter.”
Accent Housing has said it is working to “resolve the litter and fly-tipping issues at Bow Court” and they will have their contractors “clear the site as soon as possible”.
A spokesperson for Accent Housing said: “At Accent, we are committed to keeping our homes and our communities in a tidy, clean and safe condition for our customers and their families to enjoy.
“We are working closely with our contractors and community partners to resolve the littering and fly-tipping issues at Bow Court.
“We have arranged for our contractors to clear the site as soon as possible. We apologise for the delay, but we are acting on this as a priority.
“Following recent routine visits to the area and the 'estate walkabouts' we conduct with customers; we are also in the process of arranging an engagement day with our local partners to speak to the community about these issues and how we can work together to overcome them in the future.
“We would like to thank our customers for being vigilant and reporting instances of fly tipping and rubbish dumping and encourage anyone experiencing issues to contact us so we can respond accordingly.”
