A NEW social event for men who want to find a place for friendship, games, and cuppas has started in Shipley.
Taking place every week at The Activity Den, ‘The Young Ones’ is open to men who fancy a chat and a laugh.
There’s always a selection of board games, music, dominoes, cards, quiz sheets, word searches, air hockey/small pool table.
Designed for those who feel ‘young at heart’, men can also enjoy free hot drinks and biscuits.
The sessions are led by Steve, who is in his 40s, and loves music, games, and starting conversations.
A notice for the event reads: “Weekly afternoon social group for men who are young at heart, wanting to get together, play games, crosswords, listen to music, and reminisce. The perfect place for a cuppa, chat and company.”
With sessions held between 1pm and 2.30pm, the centre can be found on the first floor of Wellcroft House, next to Asda.
Access is via stairs only.
The session is a ‘pay what you can’ session - meaning whatever you can afford.
There is a suggested donation of £2 per week.
There is parking in Asda for up to 2 hours and bus terminals and the train station close by.
